Solid, handmade body soap with a lovely scent of rose and citrus. The shaving soap produces a thick, soft lather, making it ideal for use as shaving soap for the body.
The soap contains about 75 ml soap and is 5.7 in diameter x 3 cm high. The soap sits well in the hand, and has a wonderful, fresh scent of citrus, rose and rosemary. It is a great idea to put it in a ramie soap bag while bathing or showering. This creates an even thicker lather, while gently exfoliating the skin during application.
The shaving soap is handmade in Denmark and comes in paper/cardboard packaging, completely free of plastic.
Advantages of a solid soap
A solid soap – also known as a soap bar – removes the need for any disposable plastic packaging. Nor does solid soap contain parabens or other preservatives, due to its lower water content. The shaving soap contains 100% naturally-produced ingredients, fragrances and dyes. The soap is free of palm oil, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and is also vegan.
- Wet the soap and work up a lather
- Apply to the area of the skin you wish to shave
- After shaving, wash off the soap
- We recommend applying a moisturiser or oil on the skin afterwards
Make sure you keep the soap in a dry place, where the water can drain off after use. The soap should dry out after each use. A wet or damp soap that does not dry out is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. If the soap dries out after use, the bacteria will struggle to survive on its surface.
The shaving soap contains nourishing, nurturing ingredients.
Ingredients (see explanation below): Sodium Cocoate (Coconut Oil), Sodium Rapeseedate (Rapeseed Oil), Glycerine, Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut Oil), Brassica Campestris Seed Oil (Rapeseed Oil), Aqua, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil (Sweet Scented Geranium Fragrance), Citrus Limon Peel Oil (Lemon peel Fragrance), Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil (Rosemary Fragrance), Limonene (Citrus Fragrance), Linalool (Floral Fragrance), Geraniol (Rose Fragrance), Citral (Citrus Fragrance), Citronellol (Citrus Fragrance)
Coconut Oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil): Organic virgin coconut oil has a protective effect, since the skin absorbs it slowly. Adds firmness to soaps, significantly reducing drying time and also creating a soft, airy lather with large bubbles.
Brassica Campestris Seed Oil: Organic, cold-pressed rapeseed oil from the island of Bornholm. Has a nurturing effect and is generally suitable for all skin types. The seed is preserved during pressing, preserving nutrients and vitamins.
Lemon Oil (Citrus Limon Peel Oil): Essential, organic lemon oil is said to boost the circulation. In the case of minor wounds, it can stop the bleeding and also relieves oily skin.
Geranium Oil (Pelargonium Graveolens Oil): Essential, organic geranium oil is said to have antiseptic properties, perfect for treating wounds and cuts. It has a balancing effect on the body and mind.
Rosemary Oil (Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil): Essential, organic rosemary oil is said to have antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Red Clay (Montmorillonite): Cleans impure pores and adds colour to the soap.
Lye, a mixture of water and caustic soda, is also used in the soap. Lye and its high pH value causes the oils to saponify. In the saponification process, the lye and the oils are converted to the saponified coconut oil (Sodium Cocoate) and saponified rapeseed oil (Sodium Rapeseedate). Some of the oils never saponify. They add moisture and nurture the skin. The saponification process also forms glycerine, which has an emollient effect on the skin. In other words, the glycerine featured in the declaration of ingredients is not added, but is created during the saponification process. The colour of the soap comes from the red clay.
Avoid getting soap in your eyes. Rinse eyes with water if they come into contact with soap. Due to the natural essential oils in the soap, the soap is recommended for use on the body: for example, armpits and legs. We recommend not using the soap on intimate areas, since they can be particularly sensitive to essential oils.
The hand soap is handmade in Denmark by a young Danish woman. Because they are made, there may be slight differences from one soap to another. There may be little ‘white dots’ on the soaps. These are air bubbles from the production process.
